I am a very demanding customer and this was my first time working with Paul Thibault. It was an extremely complicated project and there was plenty of red-tape difficulty working with City and layers of authority. I found Paul to be flexible, adaptive, patient and highly reliable. I liked the experience of Paul’s subs; Paul did all the difficult work and interfacing with the subcontractors. Paul’s specialty is interiors and cabinetry – when to use space or not. This is a house, not just an ADU. It’s a big deal. Design proportionality of rooms and design to human-scale was key. I liked being able to discuss things and have my points heard. It was a collaboration. Paul is really professional and he followed my plan for what I needed and listened. Paul kept to the timeline; arranged the timing of things really well and made good use of it. Paul is really the kind person who is insistent on perfection. He has extremely high standards for his subcontractors. The tile guy really impressed me. I had worked with a contractor before so this is not my first time, but I’ve never met a person like Paul. I found Thibault Builders by referral, after my first experience with the initial contractor ended. Unfortunately, that contractor, the first I’d ever worked with, had messed everything up and cut corners. Thankfully, Paul came highly recommended. Carol Bowes Designs introduced us to Kathy Williams, our architect. She had worked with Paul before. Through his attention to detail, Paul saw everything that needed fixed and required absolute quality. Even his subs were great. Paul actually gives you a calendar and both the designer and I knew when decisions needed to be made. We knew what to expect and had regular meetings. Paul took my calls when I was out picking things for the home – like doors and other fixtures. Best builder ever! Paul and his team basically had to rebuild my house due to shoddy workmanship by other contractors. Our projects presented many unique challenges yet our end product was superb!!! Before the space was opened up – before Paul moved the rose bushes and added the doors on either side of the backyard wall in the family room, you couldn’t even tell that we had a backyard. Now that it is all open, at night it’s really pretty. The house feels bigger now that the backyard is so visible. Now, people are comment on how wonderful our home is.
