Main Floor – New Home Construction
Main Floor – New Home Construction – The main floor of this custom home includes nearly half of its 5800 total square feet. With every step, visitors are met with very intentional design elements. Even the more “functional” aspects of this home were met with attention to visual, textural, and spatial detail. In the entry alone, one can find custom wrought ironwork railings, marble tile floors, and a backlit stained glass ceiling with elegant, crystal light fixtures. The front door is made with custom, wood-grain fiberglass. Crown molding and expressive ceiling designs abound throughout.
“The box beams, tray ceilings, coffered ceiling, and custom stained glass in skylight were all added while under construction and are only a few of the examples. This was a great collaboration between owner, builder and architect. ” – Paul Thibaut – Thibault Builders
Great care was taken to infuse each room with elements of master artisanship and old-world charm. Note the relief-detail in the limestone surround of the fireplace. Two antique windows, each with 12 beveled-glass lites, were reimagined as French double pocket doors and carefully fitted to the space. The hardware, color and subtly distressed look of the faux-paint on these unique sliding doors, creates a bit of magic. It all comes together to infuse a touch of visual delight into what would have otherwise been a purely functional corner of the room.
