Custom Kitchen Remodel – A key piece of this 2050 sq ft 1st floor, home remodel was the kitchen. Here, in the back of the house, Thibault Builders completely opened the space and improved the flow. The kitchen features new cabinetry, tile, fixtures, and interior trims. There is secret storage built into the design and the hardwood floors are hand-scraped. New Marvin windows throughout the space and attention to detail – floor to ceiling.

I have several favorites in all of the details from this home renovation. First, I love my kitchen ceiling! It is a library ceiling design. Paul got it and really made it work. I especially love how Paul incorporated all my vintage touches. The corbels in the kitchen, which you can see in a couple photos, and the green shelf above the washer/dryer in the laundry room, are a examples found in this part of the house.

The kitchen is so much more functional. I really use the island – even more than I thought I would. And at all hours too – that’s where I sit. Paul found ways to build-in special features. The kitchen island for instance, he made use of every square inch under the counter; turning it into functional storage. You would never know it, however, just in front of the tall chairs there are 4-inch deep cabinets – perfect for storing decorative items like candles and such.
